Objectives

In pursuance of the said philosophy the aim and objectives of the college are to empower young women who want to opt nursing as a career. We provide opportunities for the students to acquire and develop:

A sound theoretical and practical knowledge of nursing care is provided at basic and at advanced levels , which can contribute to the promotion, prevention and restoration aspects of health.
The ability to plan and act independently with full responsibilities, as a qualified nurse and as a spiritual human being.
The confidence of taking up leadership position and assume responsibilities in nursing .Do the pioneering work while taking care of own’s responsibility and professional growth.
The skill to maintain a center of excellence for the pursuit of higher studies in nursing and act as a base shelter for the contemporary and future needs of new developments.
The capacity of keeping calm, serene and smiling and never to lose temper, even on provocation.
Maintaining the habit of strict punctuality in all the activities and also the obligations.

EXPERIENCE OF 1st YEAR STUDENTS

My first day in college was so amazing. It is a big campus. It was great fun with new people and new customs. I had extremity support from the management & good guidance from the faculty to understand about the Nursing profession. We have a very good hostel with all the facilities. Before coming to Pragathi College of Nursing myself & my parents were very worried about the accommodation & food adjustment. But it was not so difficult for me to adjust. We have a good Nepali warden who supports guides & comfort us in the hostel. Our hostel is very hygiene which helps us to study well in the clean environment.

When I stepped in to the Pragathi institute, I was worried about my seniors & teachers because it was different environment for me, but when I started to attend the classes , teachers & my principal made me comfort with psychological support. I was thinking that Nursing subjects will be very difficult to study, but once I started to attend the class all the faculty made me to understand the aspects very easily. My doubt & difficulties were easily vanished because of the Excellent teaching by faculty.

Pragathi College of Nursing is a platform, which ensures professional development of the students. I am very glad to be part of this institution which has good educational environment & adequate infrastructure facilities like spacious & well equipped class rooms with audio visual aids. We have good laboratories for demonstration classes as well as library with excellent reading facilities helps to gain more knowledge. A well-arranged auditorium where every year all the important events like lamp lightening, programmes, graduation day, seminars & workshop takes place.

EXPERIENCE OF 4th YEAR STUDENT

As a 4th year student of Pragathi College of Nursing, I would like to share my experience. This institution has an open learning environment & teaching style. Here we are free to ask questions & interact with out lectures. We have a good opportunity to improve knowledge through excellent teaching by qualified lectures. We got a good infrastructure like well-equipped spacious labs & class rooms with audio – visual aids. From past 3 years we are getting a good clinical experience from multi-specialty hospitals we have a good library which includes all kinds of books , National & international journals which help us to update our knowledge . We have a separate hostel for boys & girls with all the facilities. College management & staff are encouraging us to participating in extracurricular activities also.
