Reading And Recreation

Magazines of general reading such as India-Today, Wisdom, Health Guide, Nutrition and Health Care, Health for Millions, Nari, Rajadhani (Nepali) etc., and newspapers such as Deccan Herald, Indian Express, Times of India, Vjaya Karnataka and Malayalam Manorama are purchased from the SNA Fund.

The student on rotations will be in-charge of the reading room which is kept open from 4.00 P.m. to 8.00 P.m. every day. Current magazines will be issued for circulation among the students.

The institute provides spacious sports room which includes table tennis, carom boards, chess board and many other indoor games. There is also an outdoor game facility for throw ball and tennis.

The sports and recreation committee is responsible for organizing and conducting games and sports periodically and participating in State Level and National Level competitions.

EXPERIENCE OF 1st YEAR STUDENTS

My first day in college was so amazing. It is a big campus. It was great fun with new people and new customs. I had extremity support from the management & good guidance from the faculty to understand about the Nursing profession. We have a very good hostel with all the facilities. Before coming to Pragathi College of Nursing myself & my parents were very worried about the accommodation & food adjustment. But it was not so difficult for me to adjust. We have a good Nepali warden who supports guides & comfort us in the hostel. Our hostel is very hygiene which helps us to study well in the clean environment.

When I stepped in to the Pragathi institute, I was worried about my seniors & teachers because it was different environment for me, but when I started to attend the classes , teachers & my principal made me comfort with psychological support. Here we are free to ask questions & interact with out lectures. We have a good opportunity to improve knowledge through excellent teaching by qualified lectures. We got a good infrastructure like well-equipped spacious labs & class rooms with audio – visual aids. From past 3 years we are getting a good clinical experience from multi-specialty hospitals we have a good library which includes all kinds of books , National & international journals which help us to update our knowledge . We have a separate hostel for boys & girls with all the facilities. College management & staff are encouraging us to participating in extracurricular activities also.
